Dr. Jyoti Mago (Dental Medicine) and alumna Dr. Nicole Ameli (DMD 鈥19) presented their poster titled, 鈥淯ltrasonography in the diagnosis of benign pathologic entities,鈥 during the recent AAOMR (American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology) meeting. Their work concluded that ultrasonography has the greatest soft tissue spatial resolution.鈥

Katherine Howard, Karl Kingsley, Brady Petersen, Carl Yu, and Samuel Hutchings (all Dental) published their study, "Differential Expression of Cellular and Exosomal MicroRNA Isolated from Oral Cancer Cells and their Resistance to Chemotherapy," in the latest issue of Current Research in Dentistry.
Elena Farfel, Karl Kingsley (both Dental) and recent DMD graduates Cody Buhler, Scott Parker and Haley Whalen recently published "Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester (CAPE) Effects on Dental Pulp Stem Cell (DPSC) Proliferation and Viability" in the journal EC Dental Science.
Dr. David Cappelli (Dental) received a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) award of $1.5 million to develop the 鈥淣evada Predoctoral Rural Oral Health and Health Equity Program,鈥 which will focus on the oral health needs of underserved people living in rural and frontier areas within the Silver State.
