Jeff Deason, '99 BS Engineering - Civil Engineering, recently was hired by PulteGroup’s West Florida Division as vice president of land planning and development. He will play an integral role in land development and entitlements with multiple projects across the division’s geographic area and will be responsible for leading the division’s land development team. He also will be responsible for timely and accurate design and installation of land development improvements, HOA administration, and managing the division’s engineers, consultants, and attorneys. In his previous roles, including a prior stint with PulteGroup’s Del Webb brand in Las Vegas, he held similar responsibilities. Four years ago he moved to Tampa with Taylor Morrison to lead its land department and says he is excited to re-join PulteGroup.  

Maria Donnalin Maliwat, '98 BS Hotel Administration, is the mother of Carmella Gabrielle Maliwat Bugay, '17 BS Healthcare Administration, Anthony Emmanuel Maliwat Bugay, a junior studying nursing, and Brandon James Maliwat Bugay, a freshman pre-nursing student. The family lives in Henderson.  

Aeriel Halstead, '15 BA Psychology, '15 BA Communication Studies, has been accepted into the doctoral program in clinical psychology at Brigham Young University. Her research will focus on preventative interventions for intimate partner violence. Teaching dance as a salsa instructor is her hobby.  

Josh Kao, '18 BS Hotel Administration, manages his family's real estate investments and serves as a residential property manager. He is responsible for managing four high-rise condominium units and two single-family homes. His hobbies include practicing at the driving range, playing pickup basketball at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý, walking, or doing anything to stay active. Other hobbies include listening to music, specifically R&B and '80s/'90s rock, and following world news.  

Angela Khristin Brown, '97 BS Education - Recreation & Leisure Studies, '10 BS Education - Workforce Education, has worked as an administrative assistant in the department of casino management at CSN since 1998. She is a self-published poet, activist, and scholar.  

Diane Morse, '97 MS Engineering - Civil Engineering, retired after 23 years with the Federal Aviation Administration, five years with Clark County building department and the department of aviation, four years with CSX railroad, and two years with the Michigan department of transportation highway division. She and her husband, Bill, have been married for 33 years. Counted cross stitch is her hobby.

John Hawk, '98 Master of Education, '01 EdD Educational Leadership, is chief operations officer of Nevada State High School, a network of six charter schools that serves more than 900 11th and 12th grade students getting an early college experience. Previously, he was a math teacher/trainer. He enjoys serving the community, exercising, and playing golf. He and Wendi Hovey Hawk, '98 Master of Education, '02 EdD Educational Leadership, have been married 21 years. They have two children, Hailey and Andres. The family lives in Henderson.

Miles Boulton, '13 BA Psychology, is a senior academic advisor for the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering. He also is pursuing an MBA at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý and hopes to graduate in fall 2020. Hiking, running, and reading are his hobbies.

Homa Sayyar Woodrum, '03 BSBA - International Business, '07 JD, began working this summer as a deputy attorney general representing the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy within the Department of Health and Human Services. She is married to Adam Woodrum, '06 JD. The couple lives in Carson City. 

Gregory M. Smith, '86 BA and '98 MA Criminal Justice, retired in 2018 after 25 years of combined public service at the Nevada attorney general's office where he was chief of investigations and chief of staff and at the Clark County district attorney’s office where he was assistant director. In September 2018, he founded Capricorn Consulting where he specializes in active shooter response training in the workplace, internal investigations, investigations training, and policy creation. He is the father of Mark G. Smith, '16  BA Criminal Justice.

Kathia Quiros Pereira, '03 JD, practices immigration law as part of the Pereira Law Group. She maintains an online social media presence designed to educate people about immigration law.

Henry M Wallis, Jr., '90 BS Hotel Administration, has a car dealership on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi not far from his hometown of New Orleans. He says the dealership is the perfect way of easing into retirement after a career in the restaurant business. Immediately after graduation he began work at Bennigan's in New Orleans. After 10 years with the company, he went to work for Landry's Seafood House. By the time he left five years later, he was the East Coast regional manager. Next up was the Bonefish Grill and where he was the managing partner of a restaurant in Orlando. Deciding to open his own restaurant, he established the Crescent City Cafe in New Orleans, eventually selling it to chef Paul Prudhomme. He says his ÐÔÊӽ紫ý education was exceptional and that it prepared him well for his career. In 2015, he married Bonney Jarreau Wallis. Between them they have three children. His primary hobby is throwing boomerangs. He has a collection from all over the world and often can be found at the beach chasing after his sticks. He also enjoys attending New Orleans Saints games. He lives in Diamondhead, Mississippi.
