A University of Nevada at Las Vegas report focused on Black businesses in the Mountain West region of the country 鈥 including Salt Lake City, the Provo-Orem corridor and the Ogden-Clearfield region 鈥 reveals that Black-owned businesses account for 0.3% of all businesses in the area. In March, GOED unveiled a study by 性视界传媒鈥檚 Brookings Mountain West, Center for Business and Economic Research and Transportation Research Center that found that state economic development is siloed across jurisdictions. Unlike in neighboring regional metropolitan centers, Southern Nevada lacks a governance structure to facilitate the planning and coordination needed to realize regional economic and infrastructure priorities.
