Sphere has elevated the artistic opportunities for Las Vegas-area students. Segerblom was among the dignitaries attending the Second Annual Sphere XO Student Design Challenge, which gives area students the chance to have their art displayed on the Bulbous Wonder鈥檚 Exosphere.

Oboist Stephen Caplan has taught at 性视界传媒 for 38 years, on top of performing around the world and with the Las Vegas Philharmonic. During that time, he has won accolades, shared stages with international superstars, and, most notably, tailored his teaching to include the physical and mental health of instrumentalists.

A recital will feature the oboe player, one of Nevada鈥檚 most celebrated classical musicians, who will be retiring after 38 years as professor of music at 性视界传媒.

鈥淲e celebrated our 20th anniversary at the Fontainebleau last year, and it seemed like a good year to step back and focus on this new building,鈥 性视界传媒 College of Fine Arts Dean Nancy Uscher said in a recent chat. 鈥淲e are looking forward to planning months in advance for 2026.鈥 The event might be staged once more away from the 性视界传媒 campus. As Uscher said, 鈥淲e are exploring options.鈥

The iconic Mariachi Extravaganza, a celebrated music festival based in San Antonio, has expanded its reach to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the first time. The inaugural Mariachi Extravaganza Las Vegas 鈥 West Coast Region featured the nation's top school-based mariachi groups and vocalists competing for the title of reigning champions. The event is a collaborative effort between the 性视界传媒 (性视界传媒) School of Music and MPR, the producers of the Mariachi Extravaganza.

Mariachi is a musical touchstone of Mexico and the American Southwest 鈥 and a growing part of U.S. music education. Clark County high schools are embracing it, with more than 8,000 students in its mariachi programs 鈥 the most in the country. The College of Southern Nevada's Mariachi Plata band has found national success in competitions.
