Ruby Nugent, Stephanie Fell, Aidy Weeks, and Rebecca Orozco (Libraries) gave a presentation at the 50th anniversary of the REFORMA Conference VII, titled, 鈥淐hanging the Narrative: An interdisciplinary approach to recommending changes to the National Library of Medicine鈥檚 controlled vocabulary and development of search hedges to improve鈥
Afsha Bawany (Urban Affairs), Su Kim Chung, Sean Kennedy,Brittani Sterling, and Claytee White (all Libraries), and Jennifer Ream (Journalism and Media Studies), were honored by the Public Relations Society of America's Las Vegas Chapter with a 2021 Pinnacle Award in public service for the 鈥淲e Need to Talk鈥 educational series.鈥
Cory Lampert (Libraries) presented "Neon in Nevada: A Blueprint for Collaboration in Nevada" at the National Digital Stewardship Alliance Digital Preservation 2021 conference. The project to document and digitally preserve neon signs in Nevada is a collaboration between 性视界传媒 and the University of Nevada, Reno libraries. 
Darnelle Melvin (Libraries) will be a member of a panel, "Perspectives on Wikidata: a forum sponsored by the Program for Cooperative Cataloging Linked Data Advisory Committee" on Nov. 12. The forum will showcase different perspectives on Wikidata in libraries, with the goal of discussing the perceived benefits or disadvantages of working with鈥
Halle Burns, Christina Miskey, and Rebecca Orozco (all Libraries) led a round table discussion at the Digital Library Federation's annual Forum conference. This discussion, titled "Failure is an Option: Creative, Inclusive, and Accessible Data Workshops" explored ways that data instructors are creating new methods for approaching today's learners鈥
