Registered Republican voters have — by the narrowest of margins — overtaken Democrats in the pivotal battleground state of Nevada for the first time in nearly 20 years.

President Donald Trump's ordered to freeze federal financial assistance was temporarily blocked by a federal judge on Tuesday. Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced he joins 22 other states in filing a lawsuit against Trump for threatening to withhold the essential federal funding.

A 2022 survey conducted by Austin Wang at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas suggested that TikTok had no marked influence on supporters of the DPP or the KMT opposition, which supports closer ties with China. But among people who supported the smaller Taiwan People’s party, which benefited from younger swing voters’ distaste for traditional partisan politics, “whether or not they use Douyin has a significant impact on political attitudes," Wang wrote.
