The Rebel Awards recognize outstanding 性视界传媒 students and their achievements from this past year (April 2025鈥揗arch 2026). Any student or student program may be nominated for a Rebel Award.

Nomination Process
We appreciate your participation in recognizing the hard work and achievements of our fellow students. Carefully read the criteria below before submitting a nomination.
Who Can Submit a Nomination
Any student, faculty, faculty assistant, graduate assistant, or staff can nominate a student or student program for an award.
How to Submit a Nomination
Nominations must be submitted through the Rebel Awards Nomination form. This form will ask you to select an award category, fill in the required text fields, and submit a nomination summary of no more than 2,000 characters (about 250 words) of why the nominee is deserving of the award and which criteria has been met. A bullet list of qualifications is strongly encouraged.
The nominations for the Rebel Awards 2026 have closed. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the nomination form or Rebel Awards, please contact rebelawards@unlv.edu.
2026 Award Accomplishments and Requirements
All nominees must meet the minimum requirements below. The student(s) must:
- Have a 2.5 cumulative GPA (undergraduate) or 3.0 GPA (graduate)
- Be enrolled in a minimum of six credits during fall 2025 and 6 credits during spring 2026
- Be in good standing with the respective academic college
- Be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct
- Participation occurred between April 2025 and March 2026 unless otherwise noted
Please note: Individual students may be nominated for multiple awards, but are eligible to win only one.
Awards for Individual Students
The student should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Been involved in at least one structured opportunity in their first year
- E.g. Joined an RSO, participated in undergraduate research, etc.
- Demonstrated community connection via service/volunteer groups, classes, organizations, etc.
- Displayed skills and relationship building with their advisor, peer mentoring, FYE team, etc.
- E.g., Microcredentials, certifications, co-curricular involvement
The student should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Was involved in the 性视界传媒 student community by being engaged in RSOs, student teams, student worker jobs, etc.
- Engaged in workshops, seminars, or lectures held on campus
- Participated in or led campus initiatives to promote a sense of belonging on campus
- Completed research projects that contributed to the field of study, with the potential for publication or presentation at academic conferences
- Participated in a high-impact practice
- E.g., Peer mentor, study abroad, undergraduate research, etc.
The student should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Demonstrated leadership in their roles across campus
- Was involved in the 性视界传媒 student community by being engaged in RSOs, student teams, student worker jobs, etc.
- Engaged in workshops, seminars, or lectures held on campus
- Participated in or led a campus initiative to promote a sense of belonging on campus
- Completed research projects that contributed to the field of study, with the potential for publication or presentation at academic conferences
- Gained professional experience through managing creative projects, internships, work placements, or research assistantships
The student should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Actively engaged in workshops, seminars, lectures, and professional development opportunities offered by the university or their academic department.
- Demonstrated leadership through involvement in academic programs, student organizations, research teams, or university initiatives.
- Participated in or led initiatives that promote community engagement, collaboration, and a sense of belonging within the campus environment.
- Gained professional experience through internships, assistantships, work placements, research assistantships, or creative projects connected to their field of study.
The student should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Demonstrated scholarly impact through publications, conference presentations, research collaborations, or dissertation work.
- Demonstrated leadership within academic or research settings, including mentoring students, leading research teams, or contributing to academic initiatives.
- Engaged in academic conferences, workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities that support scholarly growth.
- Contributed to the 性视界传媒 community through involvement in student organizations, interdisciplinary initiatives, teaching, or outreach activities.
The student should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Demonstrated leadership within professional student organizations, clinical teams, or campus initiatives.
- Gained professional experience through clinical placements, internships, externships, practicum experiences, or applied projects that support career readiness.
- Participated in or led initiatives that provided service to the community, professional outreach, or public engagement related to their field.
- Engaged in professional development opportunities, including workshops, lectures, certifications, or networking events relevant to their profession.
Awards for Multiple Students
Student teams are defined as two or more students who collaborated with each other and the larger community to identify and achieve common goals.
The student should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Implemented a special project during the year in support of the mission of the campus/unit
- Enhanced departmental, collegiate, or campus goals and objectives
- Respected and embraced the diversity of individuals, perspectives, and ideals
- Achieved excellence through creativity, continuous improvement, and innovation
Consider all student organizations that do not have paid positions to be members. All nominees must be a Registered Student Organization (RSO), which includes recognized sports, fraternities/sororities, clubs, etc. Must be in good standing. The same organization cannot win two years in a row.
Additionally, the student organization should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Successful and organized planning and implementation
- Promote a sense of community and engagement across a broad subset of the campus population
- Significant impact on the campus community that stands out above others
- Engages in selfless acts of service and civic engagement
- Promotes cross-cultural learning and interaction; appealed to a broad audience
- Hosts events to provide a meaningful exchange of ideas
- Demonstrates effective teamwork and collaboration amongst sponsoring organizations
- Outcome that embodied the Rebel spirit of pride, inclusivity, and community
- Allow students to network and make connections for future education and careers
The student should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Made a positive impact on the college campus environment
- Exhibited a willingness to go above and beyond without the need for individual praise and/or recognition
- Exhibited behaviors such as a positive attitude, timeliness, attention to detail, customer/student service, and others that are worthy of imitating
- Motivated peers to strive for high standards
- Exhibited a positive influence on peers
- Exhibited a commitment to the 性视界传媒 community and demonstrated potential for leadership beyond program completion
The students should exemplify all of the qualities listed below:

- Participated in community engagement or service activities

- Served as a positive representative of the university community

- Prioritized their overall well-being while maintaining academic and personal responsibilities
- Participated in programs or initiatives that promote health and wellness
- Supported peers by encouraging a healthy and balanced lifestyle
- Demonstrated resilience and personal growth during their time at the university
Rebel Forever
- Participated in career development opportunities such as internships, workshops, or professional development programs
- Demonstrated strong professional skills and career readiness
- Engaged with alumni networks, mentorship opportunities, or career-focused programs
- Shown a commitment to continuing to represent and support the university after graduation
Program Awards
The experience should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Positively impacted the student culture of the university or improved the quality of life on campus for the student population
- Increased outreach and collaboration with other departments on campus
- Provided an outlet for students to engage outside of the classroom
- Demonstrated an ability to make positive changes to the event based on participant feedback and assessment
- The experience was defined as either educational or social in nature
- Promoted leadership development and/or education (can include workshops and/or training programs)
- Promoted skills and information that enabled and promoted social engagement, networking, or entertainment
- Promoted health and wellness on campus (intellectual, social, physical, spiritual, occupational, emotional, environmental)
The program should exemplify one or more of the accomplishments below:
- Exhibited successful and organized planning and implementation
- Promoted a sense of community and engagement across a broad subset of the campus population
- Had a significant impact on the campus community that stands out above others
- Engaged in selfless acts of service and civic engagement

All nominees must meet the minimum requirements below. The student(s) must:

- Understood the importance and ongoing commitment to social impact and belonging efforts in their work, campus, and/or community
- Looked for or worked for social impact and belonging in projects, discussions, and problem-solving at work

- Motivated and inspired others through encouragement and by building trust
- Strived to take the lead in workplace scenarios and were open to changes/new ideas
- Was passionate about the act of mentorship and training of fellow student employees
Should exemplify in all of these accomplishments below:
- Multitasked well in a fast-paced environment
- Made decisions and solved problems using sound, inclusive reasoning, and judgment
- Gathered and analyzed information from a diverse set of sources and individuals to fully understand a problem
Should exemplify in all of these accomplishments below:
- Used technology to improve the efficiency and productivity of their work
- Managed technology to integrate information to support relevant, effective & timely decision making
- Developed useful ideas that are new, better, or unique
