Biography

Dr. Surbhi Sharma received her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2018, which was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Oh Laboratory of Neurogenetics and Personalized Medicine, ÐÔÊӽ紫ý.

During her stay at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý, she was actively engaged in research, scholarship, and creative activities. As an active member of the Graduate and Professional Students Association, both as a Council member and as the President, she worked very closely with the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Graduate College promoting and advocating for an environment conducive to student success. She engaged the Las Vegas community through various ÐÔÊӽ紫ý including School of Life Sciences’ initiated outreach activities geared towards showcasing and discussing the fascinating science done on campus. She also taught biology courses and mentored both research and teaching undergraduate assistants for several years. Among many ÐÔÊӽ紫ý honors and awards, the notable ones are the inaugural Medallion of Honor and the Outstanding Graduate Student award at the Commencement ceremony.

She continues her passion of biomedical research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Stanford University School of Medicine. She is currently investigating the drug related hypersensitivities in systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) patients.
