LaShawnda Childress is the assistant business manager for ÐÔÊӽ紫ý's Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies. She joined the university in 2019 as a purchasing analyst in the Purchasing Department and became assistant business manager for the school in 2022.

Before relocating to Las Vegas from Kansas City, Missouri, LaShawnda worked for 14 years as an office manager and later as a sourcing specialist for an electrical utility company, where she managed the contract negotiations and purchasing of equipment, maintenance projects, and MRO supplies. During that time, she also served on her company’s nonprofit board, which supported employees experiencing financial hardship.

LaShawnda holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Missouri Western State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis in nonprofit management. She enjoys reading and staying active in her community.
