Master of Science in Nursing: Nurse Educator Track
Track Overview
The Master of Science in Nursing Nurse Educator (MSN鈥揘E) track prepares registered nurses for the advanced practice role in academic and clinical education. Graduate students will gain expertise in curriculum design, teaching and learning strategies and assessment, instructional design, online teaching, integration of educational technologies, and leadership grounded in evidence-based practice. Graduates of the MSN鈥揘E program are prepared to assume a variety of diverse educator roles, including academic nurse educator, hospital or clinical nurse educator, patient education coordinator, or community health educator.
Students will receive mentorship and direct study with experienced faculty. They will strengthen their clinical expertise in a chosen specialty area while applying educational concepts in real-world settings. Opportunities to supervise undergraduate nursing students or collaborate with clinical nurse educators provide valuable hands-on teaching experience. Practicum course assignments are guaranteed and arranged by 性视界传媒 School of Nursing. The NE track offers both full-time and part-time, year-round options to accommodate working nurses.
Track Highlights
The MSN-NE track offers flexible learning options for working nurses who want to advance their career to educate future nurses. Students begin in their cohorts at the start of every fall semester. It is a four-semester program running year-round on a trimester schedule (three semesters per year). Applications open in the fall of the year prior to admission and close in the spring semester of the year being admitted.

Program Format
- Complete most coursework online with synchronous virtual or in-person sessions
- Practicum courses require in-person attendance
- Students will be informed of events available for networking (in-person and virtual)
- Preparation for nursing education certification provided
Clinical Experience
- Gain over 500 hours in nursing education practice.
- The program will identify nurse educator preceptors within 性视界传媒 School of Nursing and the community setting to support learning in didactic, clinical, and community learning environments.
- Students will have the opportunity to provide clinical instruction, didactic teaching and innovation, and support community partners through educational experiences.
- Clinical practicum hours are live, in-person opportunities to connect online classroom learning with hands-on experiences.
Credit Hours
- 37 credit hours (4 core courses and 9 nurse educator specific courses)
