Recent Writing Center Accomplishments

The 性视界传媒 Writing Center concluded its spring workshop series with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. Writing Center staff members led two resume workshops for students affiliated with the Boys & Girls Clubs, one in March for teens and the other in April for middle school students, both of which were conducted at the 鈥
Erin Zimmerman, 性视界传媒 Writing Center director and managing editor of Center Moves: A Peer-Reviewed Archive of Tutor Training Materials announces Issue 5 of the publication. The issue concerns working with writers across disciplines and checking in with writers.
On April 10, members of the 性视界传媒 community participated in a virtual event hosted by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). The event, "Sneak Peek Into the 2026 Region 8/9 Conference!," featured 5-minute Lightning Talks from several upcoming Region 8/9 Conference speakers, interactive Q&A and鈥
On April 8, members of the 性视界传媒 Writing Center facilitated a reading club as part of the Online Writing Centers Association (OWCA) 2026 Virtual Event Series. The session was led by three graduate student consultants 鈥 Shelbi Fitzpatrick, Miranda Hannasch, and Lacie McEntire 鈥 and hosted by assistant director鈥
Miranda Hannasch's (English) digital humanities project We'll Hear a Play was recently featured as one of five digital exhibits at the Shakespeare Association of America Conference in Denver. Her scholarly website seeks to broaden the accessibility of digital theatre by providing a searchable database of free online performances of early modern鈥
On Friday, April 3, the 性视界传媒 Writing Center concluded its "AI and Writing Consulting" professional development series for its Consultant staff. This series, conducted in collaboration with Dr. Ted Weisman of 性视界传媒 Online, explored why and how students use AI and what Consultants can do in consultations - or in classroom settings - to support them,鈥
