Sarah Surrain (Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education), along with colleagues, published the article, 鈥淭uning in to Development: How Home Music Activities Relate to Language and Motor Skills in Toddlers from Monolingual and Multilingual Home Environments鈥 in Infancy.
Brett Gleason, Heather Dahl, and graduate student Taylor Milner (Counselor Education, School Psychology, and Human Services), along with a colleague from Oregon State University - Cascades, published their study, "Bridging Nature and Counselor Education: Utilization and Barriers to EcoWellness" in the Journal of Humanistic Counseling.

The special issue was on "鈥
Sage Stafford and Dan Wright (both AQUA; Education) published "Rank-Poisson Transformation for Use with Count Data in Poisson Regression" in Applied Math. Count data are common in the educational, medical, social, and physical sciences. We examined different transformations and approaches when the data were not distributed Poisson.
Alain Bengochea (Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education) has been appointed vice chair of Nevada's newly established English Learner Advisory Council for the 2025-2026 interim, created under legislation passed during the 83rd Nevada Legislative Session. The council is charged with studying and advising on policies related to English鈥
Hasan Deniz (Teaching and Learning) and Ph.D. student Dilara Kara-Zorluoglu (Teaching and Learning) published with co-authors Ezgi Yesilyurt (Utah State University), Erdogan Kaya (University of Texas at Arlington), Refika Turgut (University of South Carolina Upstate), and Elif Adibelli-Sahin an article titled 鈥淯npacking the sources of computer鈥
Shaoan Zhang, Ph.D., (Teaching and Learning) has been appointed to serve on the American Educational Research Association (AERA) International Relations Committee (IRC) for a three-year term through 2029. AERA is the largest national research association dedicated to the scientific study of education and learning. The International Relations鈥
Melikabella Shenouda (Liberal Arts; Education) performed spoken word at TEDx Las Vegas. The second annual event was held at AC Element Symphony Park with the overarching theme of 鈥淧ast. Present. Possible.鈥.  Shenouda's composition, "Eclipse," encompasses themes of love, lust, and loss, with elements of comic relief. Through live performance鈥
