U.S. News & World Report recognized ÐÔÊӽ紫ý as one of the nation's top universities by yield - the rate of students who are accepted and decide to enroll. This is the fourth consecutive year ÐÔÊӽ紫ý has been on this list.
The publication analyzed fall 2012 entering class information and placed ÐÔÊӽ紫ý 11th, up one spot from a 12th place ranking the past two years. ÐÔÊӽ紫ý ranked 25th in 2011.
"The high yield rate is indicative of enhancements to ÐÔÊӽ紫ý's academic offerings and the overall student experience," said ÐÔÊӽ紫ý President Donald Snyder. "We're on the right track in creating an environment which connects students to a diverse curriculum and a robust campus life. More students are choosing to be Rebels and we're excited about where ÐÔÊӽ紫ý is going."
U.S. News & World Report ranked 270 schools. Of the 5,133 students accepted at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý in the fall of 2012, 3,294 enrolled for a yield of 64.2 percent. ÐÔÊӽ紫ý's fall 2011 enrollment data shows the yield was 60.5 percent. According to fall 2012 enrollment data, Nevada residents made up 81.5 percent of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý's freshman class.
"The ranking is reflective of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý's increased recruitment efforts and commitment to strong academics and student services," said Shannon Goodman, associate vice president for enrollment and student services at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý. "We're pleased to see our student population grow to attract not only Nevada residents, but more out-of-state and international students."
U.S. News & World Report in 2013 ranked ÐÔÊӽ紫ý among the . The university was also recently named for the fourth consecutive year and made the 2014 list of top military friendly colleges and universities in the publication Military Advanced Education.
