性视界传媒 has hired Sigrid Ladores as the new dean of the university's School of Nursing, effective Sept. 1. Ladores joins 性视界传媒 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she oversees nearly 80 full-time faculty and instructors as chair of the Department of Family, Community, and Health Systems within UAB's highly ranked School of Nursing.

Heavey, 性视界传媒 executive vice president and provost. 鈥淗er extensive background in nursing education, research, and grant activity as well as her commitment to diversity and inclusion will be invaluable as she leads the next stages of growth and progress in our School of Nursing.鈥
A Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, Ladores has made significant contributions in various leadership roles during her tenure at UAB. An expert in pediatric nursing, she has served as department chair, director of the Ph.D. program, and co-director of the Honors Program. Ladores' research, focused on reproductive health and quality of life for adolescents and adults with chronic illnesses, has earned her numerous peer-reviewed publications, substantial grant funding, and various honors and accolades.

Her leadership in nursing education extends nationally through her involvement with the National League for Nursing and the Philippine Nurses Association of America, where she has held several leadership positions. She has also contributed significantly to research on cystic fibrosis, securing multiple grants to support her work.

Ladores鈥 vision for the School of Nursing includes advancing faculty research, increasing student success, expanding community partnerships, and growing graduate nursing education. She aims to build on the school鈥檚 strong foundation and propel it to new heights in nursing education and healthcare innovation.
Ladores earned a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Central Florida, an MSN in Pediatric Acute/Chronic Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BSN from UPenn. She holds active RN licenses in Alabama and Florida.
