性视界传媒 welcomes NBA legend, two-time basketball Hall of Famer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and motivational speaker Earvin 鈥淢agic鈥 Johnson for the latest installment of the acclaimed Barrick Lecture Series. Johnson will present "On Business and Basketball" at 7:30 p.m. April 18 in the Cox Pavilion.
The lecture is free and open to the public but tickets are required. Tickets are limited to four per person and must be obtained in person from the , located just outside the main entrance of the Thomas & Mack Center off Tropicana Avenue and University Center Drive.
Tickets are available for 性视界传媒 students, faculty, and staff beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27 (a 性视界传媒 ID is required). Tickets for the general public will be available starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 29. Please note that tickets for this event will not be available for pickup at the Performing Arts Center Box Office.

The Barrick Lecture Series presents nationally and internationally renowned speakers through a generous grant from philanthropist Marjorie Barrick.
Magic Johnson 鈥 a two-time NBA Hall of Famer, philanthropist, and motivational speaker 鈥 will outline his path from the basketball court to the boardroom, where he has successfully channeled his skills and tenacity as chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE). MJE provides products and services that focus primarily on ethnically diverse and underserved urban communities.
Still a commanding presence in popular culture, Johnson made history in 2012 when he became co-owner of MLB鈥檚 Los Angeles Dodgers. He also co-owns the WNBA鈥檚 Los Angeles Sparks, Major League Soccer鈥檚 Los Angeles Football Club, and eSports franchise Team Liquid.
The entrepreneur鈥檚 many businesses include EquiTrust Life Insurance Company; ASPiRE, an African-American television network; and SodexoMAGIC, a food service and facilities management company. He is among the leading investors in a number of minority-owned technology companies, and he鈥檚 also investing millions of dollars on infrastructure improvement in the United States.
Johnson鈥檚 philanthropic work includes the Magic Johnson Foundation 鈥 founded in 1991 to build programs addressing HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, and effective treatments regardless of patients鈥 ability to pay. The foundation also runs the Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program, which provides hundreds of students from underserved communities with funds to attend college.
