TEDx is back at ӽ紫ý in 2016 and organizers are looking for people with ‘ideas worth spreading’ to take the stage April 8 at the university’s Black Box Theatre.
The theme for TEDxӽ紫ý in 2016 is “Living in the Extreme,” which can mean anything from extreme activities to how we as humans cope with the extremes in our daily lives.
Think you have what it takes to motivate with your message? Know someone with an inspirational story they’re just itching to tell? Nominations – including self-nominations – will be accepted through Feb. 15 on the TEDxӽ紫ý .
TEDxӽ紫ý organizers are looking for more than a dozen speakers for the daylong event that will include presentations, art displays, and attendee activities. Tickets will go on sale in mid-February.
TEDx events are local and self-organized, and they bring people together in ways similar to a TED Talk. During TEDx events, live speakers and TED Talks videos combine to spark discussion and connection among attendees. Events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
Attendees will experience TED's celebrated format: a suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations, and performances on a wide range of subjects to promote learning and inspire. TEDxӽ紫ý will also be live-streamed to viewing parties both on and off campus.
TEDxӽ紫ý held its inaugural event in 2014 with the theme “.” Authors, scientists, photographers, adventurers, and researchers conveyed how people at ӽ紫ý and within the Las Vegas community are energizing innovation, highlighted through three concepts: Imagine, Ignite, and Illuminate.

is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today's leading thinkers and doers.
