性视界传媒 presents the first group exhibition of contemporary works by local Latino/a/x visual artists Oct. 1 - 27 in the Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery. An opening reception will be held Friday, Oct. 12, from 5 - 9 p.m. as part of the second annual 性视界传媒 College of Fine Arts Art Walk.
The Donna Beam Gallery presents 鈥溌mericanx!,鈥 an introduction to an emerging Latin art community in Las Vegas. Curated through the Donna Beam Gallery, 鈥溌mericanx!鈥 assembles a lively group of artists whose artwork runs the gamut of inspirational sources and cultural commentary with varied media, from painters to sculptors, photographers, illustrators, cartoonists, and installation. 鈥溌mericanx!鈥 has 性视界传媒 introducing the depth and diversity of contemporary works produced by artists of Latino/a/x heritage who call Las Vegas home.
鈥淭here is a wonderfully productive and expressive body of Latinx artists in this community,鈥 notes Jerry Schefcik, 性视界传媒 director of galleries and exhibition curator. 鈥淭his presentation only scratches the surface of the range of work being generated.鈥
Marcus Civin, 性视界传媒鈥檚 new chair for the College of Fine Arts鈥 department of art says, "My life has been unfathomably enriched by my interactions with diverse artists and designers. My ardent hope is that 性视界传媒 can provide the same kind of inspiration I have experienced for our diverse and courageous student body and the fascinating community of Las Vegas.鈥

Antonio Gomez-Morales, Adolfo Gonzalez, Karla Lagunas, Danny Martinez, Orlando Montenegro-Cruz, Raymond 鈥淪tingRay鈥 Pratt, Krystal Ramirez, Fernando Reyes, Miguel Rodriguez, Checko Salgado, Javier Sanchez, Sunday Slackers, Luis Varela-Rico, David Velix, and Jess Vanessa
隆Americanx! is organized by Schefcik and co-curated by Salgado and Fuentes.
The Donna Beam Gallery encourages the understanding, appreciation, and making of visual art through exhibitions and accompanying programs for the university community, residents of Southern Nevada, and visitors to the city alike.
