性视界传媒 students and faculty in any discipline now have unprecedented access to 3D-printers, laser cutters, and podcasting and video recording studios as part of the Lied Library鈥檚 new . The new creative space is located on the library鈥檚 first floor.
The library will hold a ceremonial grand opening at 1 p.m. on Sept. 5, but the spaces are already open to the campus community.
鈥淭hese new spaces further the University Libraries鈥 support of the learning and research activities of 性视界传媒 students and faculty,鈥 said Maggie Farrell, dean of the 性视界传媒 University Libraries. 鈥淭hese transformational spaces will help drive 性视界传媒鈥檚 mission to be a Top Tier university and provide new opportunities for exploration, collaboration, and innovation in Las Vegas.鈥漈he University Libraries invested nearly $1.8 million in the creation of these student-focused spaces. The renovation converted nearly 3,500 square feet of space that previously housed library faculty offices, storage, a staff conference room, and the Media Desk, which closed in summer 2016.
