What鈥檚 the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Las Vegas? While most answers might consist of the Strip, 性视界传媒 Senior, Harmony Castiglione, has learned that there is more than the city has to offer.
She quickly discovered that Vegas is home to local events like music festivals and farmers markets, while also being the perfect location for day trips to warm California beaches and national parks in Utah.
Most importantly, the location was a key networking opportunity for Harmony to meet professionals in her field, find internships, and land a great career when she graduates this year with a degree in marketing.
Why did you choose 性视界传媒?
I chose 性视界传媒 because I fell in love with the campus, people, and city! When I went on a campus tour and attended my first Honors College event, I knew that it was the perfect fit for me. The Honors College gives a small college, family feel while still getting the large university experience!

What was your 鈥渁lmost major鈥? Political science. I switched to marketing after one semester but am still on track to graduate in four years thanks to my amazing advisors!

How did the location impact your decision to attend 性视界传媒?
I love meeting new people, and the large Las Vegas population makes that easy! There is always something to do here, whether it鈥檚 music festivals, conventions, farmers markets, or events on The Strip, so I never get bored! Las Vegas is also the perfect location for weekend trips to the California beaches, Arizona, or the beautiful parks in Utah! In regards to my career, there are many opportunities for internships during college and jobs for after I graduate.
How have you benefited from the Las Vegas location?
I have been able to network with lawyers and other professionals in the Las Vegas area who let me tour their offices, interview them, and ask for their advice which has been a very beneficial experience.
Have you been mentored by a faculty member? Who were they and how did they make an impact?
The Honors College professors and faculty were a huge motivation for me to attend 性视界传媒. When I toured campus, the Honors College had an event and, although I had not yet committed to 性视界传媒, I was accepted to the Honors College so they let me attend. They welcomed me with open arms and I could tell they actually cared about me as an individual student. (Instructors) Daniel Bubb and Daniel Coyle checked on my well-being inside and outside the classroom, and (Associate Dean) David Sinclair and Dean (Andrew) Hanson worked closely with me to find ways to offset my tuition.
What is the number one reason a future student should consider 性视界传媒?
性视界传媒 compares to top-rated schools, but at a significantly lower cost of tuition. We are one of the most diverse universities in the country which has given me the opportunity to meet people from other cultures and backgrounds without having to leave the country.
What student organizations, activities, or resources have you been involved with outside the classroom?
Residence Hall Association (allowed me to attend a leadership conference at BYU for free), The Intersection, The Rebellion, Honors College, attending sporting events, Homecoming, and Premier.
