Big Goal

“To solve patient's dental problems using the knowledge I gained in dental school, the advice and guidance of mentors and staying current on research and technology.”

Inspiration

“I have wanted to be a dentist since I was 6 years old. I have had several mentors along the way to help guide me. Currently in dental school, I would have to thank Dr. (Charles) Hatley, Dr. (Rhonda) Everett, and all the amazing dentists of the Nevada Dental Association and Southern Nevada Dental Society for helping inspire me to continue forward.”

Memorable Moment

“In dental school, several techniques we learn by doing on each other. Some of the more memorable moments were learning how to take impressions on each other without causing a gag reflex, learning how to anesthetize by trying out the different type of injections on each other and learning how to use nitrous by administering it on each other.  These moments were filled with nervous energy, good laughs, and lasting friendships.”

Challenge

The different between going from undergraduate to a graduate schooling. It’s a lot more credits and classes. In dental school, you’re dealing with coursework as well as clinic time as well as time you have to spend after hours in the laboratory. Time management of juggling all three of those was a challenge.

The Celebration

“Part of the plan with friends from dental school is to burn the maroon scrubs that we have had to wear for the last four years.”
