Tashauna Stewart (Lee Business School Advising Center) recently presented on innovative approaches to advisor wellness and professional sustainability at the in San Diego, California. Her session, titled "Beyond the Desk: Fostering Advisor Wellness Through Micro-Externships," highlighted the Lee Business School鈥檚 Advisor Micro-Externship Program. Developed through funding from the , this program allows advising professionals to shadow colleagues in non-advising campus units to strengthen institutional knowledge, collaboration, and engagement. Grounded in the pillars of compensation, agency, and engagement, the initiative has involved more than 50 advisors and 12 campus partners across five semesters. The presentation shared assessment outcomes, lessons learned, and strategies for replicating similar programs to support advisor retention, cross-campus connection, and student success.
