Description
ÐÔÊӽ紫ý NextGen Curators: Virtual Museum of Community, Identity & Creativity is an immersive camp designed for high school students interested in art, technology, storytelling, and creative innovation. Hosted by the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art in collaboration with faculty from ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Fine Arts, Engineering, and Communication Studies, this program will introduce students to the exciting world of digital museum curation and exhibition design.
Through hands-on workshops and collaborative projects, students will learn how museums tell stories by creating their own virtual exhibitions that reflect personal identity, community experiences, and creative perspectives. Participants will gain experience in digital exhibition creation, basic coding and 3D/VR tools, visual arts curation, and public speaking, while working closely with ÐÔÊӽ紫ý faculty, graduate mentors, and peers.
The program culminates in a virtual museum showcase, where students present their completed digital exhibitions to families, community members, and the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý community. This camp offers a unique opportunity to explore interdisciplinary college pathways, build digital literacy, strengthen communication communication skills, and experience college-level learning on ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s campus.
It will run on weekdays only from May 26–June 5, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. It will not take place on Saturday, May 30 or Sunday, May 31.
