The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is proud to present Floreo, an installation by Las Vegas artist Brian Martinez. Positioned against a dynamic red and blue background, a new shaped painting by the artist will bring different eras of Mexican art history together in an unexpected whole. Blending Diego Rivera’s 1942 Vendedora de Flores (The Flower Seller) with Mesoamerican imagery and street fashion, this installation continues Martinez’s ongoing exploration of the intersection between historical and contemporary Chicano culture.

Floreo will be on view in the Window Gallery of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art from June 20–Dec. 20, 2025. The opening reception will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025. The Marjorie Barrick Museum is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday–Saturday, but the Window Gallery is always on view. You can find it on the south exterior wall of the building. Entry is free. 

ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Brian Martinez

Born in Anaheim, California, Brian Martinez was introduced to the growing American street art scene in middle school. He attended Las Vegas High School where he was Art Club President and a student in the Partnership At Las Vegas Program. He received his BFA from the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý, where he currently works as an adjunct professor. His work has been exhibited in galleries around Las Vegas, including Nuwu Art + Activism Studios, Scrambled Eggs, and The Studio at Sahara West Library.
