Class Notes

Kent Kay

Kent Kay, '03 BA Film, began his career at KTVN in Reno and later worked at KTNV-TV in Las Vegas; KHOU in Houston; and WITI in Milwaukee. He served as creative director at KESQ News Channel 3 in Palm Springs for 13 years. He currently teaches digital design and film at College of the Desert and serves on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Pacific Southwest Chapter. In November 2025, he will be inducted into the Silver Circle of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Silver Circle is one of the highest honors in broadcasting, recognizing professionals who have dedicated 25 years or more to advancing the television industry and making a lasting impact on their communities.

Jason Aaron Goldberg

Jason Aaron Goldberg, '00 BFA, along with Joseph Campanale, '01 BA Architecture, and Hylarie Aguilar, '05 BFA, worked together to produce the film, Every 85 Minutes. The film was produced entirely in Clark County. It received grant support from the 性视界传媒 Fine Arts Alumni Association as well as NV Arts/NEA. Upon learning that Nevada has a significantly higher rate of veterans taking their life than any other state, Goldberg felt compelled to bring more attention to the topic. He chose to focus on female veterans and the tragic reality that 1 in 4 female service members report an instance of Military Sexual Trauma.The film stars active Army reserve staff Sergeant Relana Jah鈥檓elle McGlothan as Deana, an Army veteran struggling with isolation and disillusionment during the COVID pandemic. The 10th Annual Nevada Women鈥檚 Film Festival held a screening at 性视界传媒 in June 2024.

Kyle Ensrude

  Kyle Ensrude, 鈥20 MFA Writing for Dramatic Arts, is excited that Papa Voodoo, a short film he wrote and directed while attending 性视界传媒, had its world premiere at the historic TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood, Calif., as part of the 24th Annual Dances with Films Festival on Aug. 29. The film's crew was made up almost exclusively of 性视界传媒 alumni and current students and was produced by 性视界传媒 professor and 2017 Nevada Women Filmmaker of the Year May May Luong. The process of the film's production started in 性视界传媒 professor Warren Cobb's film production class.  

Anthony Guidubaldi and Keith Strausbaugh

Under the banner of Hot Tub Mimosas, Anthony Guidubaldi, 鈥10 BA English, 鈥15 MA Writing for Dramatic Media, and Keith Strausbaugh, 鈥13 MFA Screenwriting,  recently wrote, produced, directed, edited, and sold Marathon, a Christopher Guest-style mockumentary about runners, to Gravitas Ventures. The film features Kimia Behpoornia (from NBC sitcom Abby鈥檚) and Las Vegas comedic stars from Cirque du Soleil, Absinthe, Second City, and Blue Man Group. Marathon was released in July 2021 on VOD platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Vudu, and YouTube.
