Jason Victor (PhD candidate, Czerwinski group) successfully defended his dissertation "The Application of Halides To Nuclear Materials And The Nuclear Fuel Cycle: Dissolution, Synthesis, and Separation." His work focused on the synthesis of cerium doped uranium chloride materials, synthesis of CeX3 materials using aluminum halides, and the separation of uranium from plutonium and cerium doped UO2 via chemical vapor transport CVT assisted by AlX3.
